RIZOMA “PROGUARD” SYSTEM

 

An exclusive Rizoma patent, the Proguard System is a guard for the brake and clutch levers. Originally conceived for racing, it is also available in a road version, and mounts to a wide range of makes and models in silver (pictured), black or gold.

 

Rizomas new Proguard System has been developed over years or research and development by Moto GP teams for the highest performance in aerodynamics and safety. The unique design is developed to reduce friction on brake and clutch levers caused at high speeds, preventing any unnecessary 'pull' on your levers as well as preventing another rider from accidently applying your front brake lever - which would cause a certain accident.

 

Analyzing the data obtained from the race track, it’s been shown that once the 180 km/h (112 mph) speed is exceeded, both brake and clutch levers undergo frontal pressure caused by the air resistance.  This results in a value variation up to 0.7-0.8 bar (10.2-11.6 psi) in the hydraulic system and leads to brake wear and clutch slippage.

 

This type of guard is a response to the extreme sensitivity of the latest high power braking systems – braking performance is better than ever before, but the risk of accident in case of unintentional operation is higher than ever.

 

The Proguard System does come with 1 x SCREW M6x40 for UNIVERSAL FITMENT.  However, “Model Specific” Adaptors can be purchased separately.
